2016 Fast Track Racing ARCA Series
The 2016 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards got started in Daytona with the running of the Lucas Oil 200 driven by General Tire. As always this event was filled with excitment of side by side, 3 wide racing. John Wes Townley took the checkard followed by William Byron and Kyle Weatherman. Ed Pompa in the Fast Track Racing #10 Double H Ranch Chevy finished 17th after barely escaping a major accident on lap 2, causing the #10 to dive to the bottom to avoid the carnage but scrapping the grass with the front nose and causing minor downforce issues. "We battled back and stayed in the lead draft and brought it home in 17th, I want to thank all the guys at Fast Track for giving me a great car this weekend, without the nose damage I feel we could have been in the top ten with this piece", said Pompa. Another FastTrack Racing driver competing in only his 2nd Daytona start was Dick Doheny from Ballston Spa, NY driving the DMS Doheny Mechanical Services Chevy finished in 30th. Both drivers had a great time on and off the track while in Daytona and looking forward to returning to the racing surface soon. Fast Track Racing also welcomed General Tire to the series as the "Offical Tire of the 2016 ARCA Racing Series" with major announcements of race sponsorships and fan activation plans for upcoming events. The tire General provided for Daytona was durable and lastest the distance and I am sure the ones for your personal vehicles will do the same.
