Fast Track's 1-Day Basic Oval Course is your opportunity to fulfill a life-long dream. Climb behind the wheel and experience the thrill and excitement of driving a NASCAR style stock car on the speedway of your choice - Lowe's Motor Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, or Michigan International Speedway. This course is the first day of the 3-Day Basic Oval Course and offers all of the basic instruction you will need to solo a NASCAR Stock Car.

8:00 to 8:30 - Classroom instruction addressing the basics of driving a stock car at high speed, overall safety guidelines, pit road safety and general information. You will be fitted in a driver's suit and helmet to use during the course.

8:30 to 9:45 - On pit road you will be shown how the race cars operate. Proper method of getting in and out of car, operation of transmission, steering wheel, gauges, fire extinguisher, safety harness, window net, etc.

9:45 to 10:45 - Your first lap will be a slow but very important one. You will walk the entire race track with the instructors. They will describe to you the proper driving line around the track. At the same time a street vehicle will be circling the track to visually point out the proper driving line.

10:45 to 11:30 - You will then drive a street car around the race track for several laps with an instructor in the car to help describe the driving line if there are any questions.

11:30 to 12:30 - Now you will get your first time behind the wheel of the race car. You will run about 6 laps in one of our 2-seat school cars with an instructor in the car with you to be sure you are comfortable with the car and the driving line.

12:30 to 1:30 - Lunch break

1:30 to 4:30 - During the afternoon you will have the opportunity to drive for three 8-lap sets by yourself. You will be working on your consistency of the driving line, your confidence, and increasing your speed- as long as you are doing everything right.
